What to Bring for Your Dental Trip

Your complete checklist so nothing is forgotten - from dental records to travel essentials for your stay in Tirana.

Your Dental Trip Checklist

Packing for a dental trip is a little different from a regular holiday. This checklist covers everything you need to bring for a smooth, stress-free experience at Elonix Clinic.

Dental Records & Medical Documents

  • Recent dental X-rays or panoramic scans - Digital copies on USB or emailed to us in advance
  • Previous treatment records - Any notes from your current dentist about past procedures
  • Treatment plan from home - If you received a quote from your local dentist, bring it for comparison
  • List of current medications - Include dosages and frequency
  • Allergy list - Especially drug allergies and latex sensitivity
  • Medical history summary - Heart conditions, diabetes, blood thinners, or other relevant conditions

Travel Documents

  • Valid passport or EU ID card - Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your stay
  • Flight confirmation - Print or digital copy of your booking
  • Hotel reservation - Address and contact details
  • Travel insurance documents - Including policy number and emergency contact
  • Elonix appointment confirmation - The email or WhatsApp message confirming your dates

Medications & Health Items

  • All current medications - In original packaging with prescriptions
  • Pain relief you trust - Paracetamol or ibuprofen (we also provide these)
  • Soft toothbrush - You will need a gentle brush post-treatment
  • Lip balm - Your lips may feel dry after longer procedures
  • Any prescribed antibiotics - If your dentist at home pre-prescribed medication

Clothing & Comfort

  • Comfortable clothing - You will be sitting in a dental chair for extended periods
  • Button-up shirts - Easier to put on/off without touching your face post-surgery
  • Scarf or neck pillow - Useful for the flight home after treatment
  • Walking shoes - Tirana is a walkable city; enjoy it between appointments

Payment & Finance

  • Credit/debit card - Visa and Mastercard widely accepted
  • Some euros in cash - For taxis, small shops, and tips
  • Bank transfer details - If you plan to pay via wire transfer
  • Insurance claim forms - If your insurer may reimburse dental treatment abroad

Technology & Entertainment

  • Phone with WhatsApp - Our primary communication channel
  • Phone charger & power adapter - Albania uses European Type C/F plugs
  • Headphones - Listen to music or podcasts during procedures
  • Book or tablet - For waiting times and recovery days

Do NOT Bring

  • Excessive jewellery (you will need to remove it for X-rays)
  • Whitening products (wait until after your treatment)
  • Electric toothbrush (use a soft manual brush during recovery)

Packing Questions

It is helpful but not required. If you have recent panoramic X-rays or CBCT scans, bring them digitally. We perform all necessary imaging on-site at no extra cost.

EU citizens need only a valid ID card or passport. UK, US, and most other nationals need a valid passport. No visa is required for stays under 90 days for most nationalities.

Yes, bring all current medications in their original packaging with prescriptions. Also bring a list of any allergies. Our team needs this information to plan your treatment safely.
